  Wilderness  Explorers

Ages 8-16

     WEDNESDAYS
9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

The Wilderness Explorers spend the entire day outdoors exploring and immersing themselves in nature. Barring extreme weather, we will learn about nature, eat, play, "water and fertilize" trees, and carry everything they need for the day in their backpacks - rain, snow, and sun.

Learners will complete challenges, hike, develop outdoor & survival skills, work together, build shelters, and become connected to our natural world and each other.

Our experienced outdoor Guides use observation and documentation to plan outdoor programs that encourage active exploration, inquiry, independence, kindness & character building, choice, critical thinking & problem solving, wonder, and discovery. Our days are loosely structured to allow space for the learners' curiosity and interest to lead.

Your child will explore as a group as well as have room to independently interact with our wonderful natural environment, alongside Guides who have a love for the outdoors that is highlighted by conservation and stewardship-minded practices.

Learners will be a mix of children from the community who are homeschooled, attend public school, attend Acton Academy, or attend another private school.

  Forest Kindergarten

Ages 4-7

     MONDAYS
9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Our Forest Kindergarten program offers an introduction of the natural world to young learners. This may be the first experience for some children being in nature away from their parents and our experienced Guides have a deep respect for this.

Our Guides have created a program that will both nature and challenge these young explorers. They will learn about nature, eat, play, "water and fertilize" trees, and carry everything they need for the day in their backpacks - rain, snow, and sun.

Our days are loosely structured to allow space for the learners' curiosity and interest to lead. They will learn to work together, hike, develop a love & respect for nature, and complete challenges.

Learners will be a mix of children from the community who are home/homeschooled, attend public school, attend Acton Academy, or attend another private school.

 Parent & Tot   Rewilding

Ages 0-4
with parent

     FRIDAYS
9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Join us for a day of community as we gather as parents with young children. We will spend 2 hours exploring and learning about nature and ourselves. This is a program where both parent and children truly benefit.

Whether you are already a nature enthusiast looking to expand your time in nature and connect with other like-minded families or are a beginner looking to learn to appreciate the natural world this will be a wonderful way to connect and "rewild" ourselves.

Our Guide, Julie, is a very experienced wilderness expert and mother of 5 beautiful children. She has a passion for community and sharing connection with others.

  Fiddleheads & Fawns

Ages 2.5-4

     TUESDAYS / THURSDAYS
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

This program is available for a small number of learners (6 maximum).

It fosters and supports self-directed nature-inspired play, a strong sense of self, confidence, and resilience. It allows our young learners to get comfortable with the uncomfortable.

In addition, it promotes social and emotional development, the wonder of nature connection, and core motor skills. All through hands-on experiential learning outdoors in a  beautiful nature setting.

Our Fiddleheads and Fawns will meet in all weather, unless dangerous, but a wall tent & wood stove will be available for warming. Learners do not have to be fully potty-trained; potty-training, wearing pull-ups, will be supported.
